Off-Campus Access

Most IU School of Medicine Library online resources require authentication. Faculty and students will need an IU or Clarian Username and password in order to authenticate and gain access to these resources.

IUSM and IU Centers for Medical Education (CME) faculty and students will need to obtain an IU network ID.

Please Note:

Bloomington CME Faculty and students have access to IU Bloomington resources and Ruth Lilly Medical Library resources.
Faculty and students at all other CME locations have access to local campus resources, Ruth Lilly Medical Library resources, and IUPUI resources (University Library, Dental Library, Law Library)

If you do not qualify for an IUSM or Clarian ID, you may be eligible for access by becoming an RLML Affiliate.

Remote login process:

Go to the Ruth Lilly Medical Library Home Page.
Select the resource you would like to access.
You will be presented with an Authentication page where you will enter your IU or Clarian Username and password.

Please Note:

There is a Secure Login option for Online Medical Books, Electronic Databases.

Secure Login is recommended. When you choose to login with this process, you will be presented with an alphabetically ordered list of all of the RLML Electronic Resources. Selecting a letter at the top will take you to the resources in the list beginning with the letter - simply scroll to the desired resource.

Once a resource is selected, you will be presented with the Secure Login page where you will enter your IU or Clarian Username and password.

Receive errors when logging in due to invalid Username or password - unable to authenticate?	Password Maintenance (IU)
Receiving error messages related to "Cookies"?	The browser must be configured to either allow cookies or prompt you to allow them on the spot. In Netscape this setting is found under "Edit/Preferences"; in Internet Explorer it is "Tools/Internet Options/Privacy". For more information, search the UITS Knowledge Base using the keyword "Cookies".

Domain Name is required when logging into a resource?	ADS for IU MHG for Clarian Please note: Some browsers will not show a special box for Domain name; if you have any trouble logging in, try putting the Domain Name in front of your ID, for example "ADS\smith" or "MHG\Jones".
