| He has served as Professor of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. His investigation into the medical histories of both Union and Confederate officers assists in delineating information about their lives and the practice of medicine at the time. He is the author of Tarnished Scalpels, Medical Histories of Union Generals and Medical Histories of Confederate Generals. | |
