Library Renovation in 2009
There are many changes in store for the School of Medical Library in 2009 as it prepares for the renovation of the second and third floors scheduled to begin in May. These renovations include the construction of four computer classrooms on the second floor. Each of these rooms will house 40 computers, wireless access and video projection equipment. Study facilities open to School of Medicine patrons will be accessible 24-hours a day for the entire year. The newly renovated third floor will house the School of Medicine's team based learning facilities, the Library's administrative offices and the History of Medicine.
Nearly 81,000 bound journal volumes have been removed from the library in order to make room for this additional instructional space. Although the journals are no longer a part of the physical library they are available online through the virtual library. You may access our electronic journals through our A-Z list, the online catalog (IUCAT), or directly via links from article citations in databases such as Ovid Medline and PubMed.
